Oman Railway Company (Oman Rail) has awarded a EUR 50 million contract to a joint-venture of TPF Khatib & Alami and partners (40%), TPF Getinsa Euroestudios (35%) and D’Appolonia S.p.A. (25%) to provide design and consultancy services.
Oman Railways plans to contract a consultant with sound experience in the rail transportation sector for design and associated services for the Oman National Railway project. The Persian Gulf State plans to build a national railway network of 2,135 kilometres.
The project is divided into seven components such as operations and maintenance, infrastructure, rolling stock, railway facilities, mass transit system and auxiliary services. The contract of the project has been awarded to multiple consultants which, on a later stage, will receive a package of works on call-off basis.
TPF says this is the first relevant award following their joint commercial effort with TPF Planege Cenor in the same region of Persian Gulf. The awarded contract is also a significant step in strengthening the company’s relationship with a key partner, Khatib & Alami.
The contract signed with Oman Rail is a noteworthy reference for future commercial action in the transport infrastructure sector.
